With two splits already released in 2016, Gatecreeper doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of slowing the pace just yet. With their debut full-length set for an early October release, the death metal newcomers keep the flow of new music coming.
“Stronghold” is the third song off of Sonoran Depravation. In four minutes, Gatecreeper runs a breakneck pace in and out of crushing heavy moments.
“Stronghold” came to be early on in the writing process and may be familiar to those who’ve seen Gatecreeper live.
“Chronologically, this is the oldest song on the record. We wrote this song early on and it has been a staple in our live set ever since. The Bolt Thrower influence on this one is more than obvious. This is the sound of being run over by a tank,” says Chase Mason, the band’s vocalist.
Sonoran Depravation drops October 7 on Relapse but it’s available for preorder here.
