Kam Lee has been at the forefront of a number of groundbreaking and top-tier extreme metal bands throughout his life. Mantas, Death and Massacre are just three of the many bands he’s been involved in, the latest being Nattravnen. Lee is joined by Jonny Pettersson (Wombbath, Henry Kane, Heads for the Dead, et al) on all instruments, who delivers death metal that is darker and less crusty than one might expect from the multi-instrumentalist.
That darkness penetrates Nattravnen’s new song, “Corvus Corax Crown,” inserting an unsettling feeling throughout. Lee’s reverberating vocals are an ideal match for Pettersson’s instrumentals; the end result is simultaneously eerie and crushing.
