Track Premiere: Omenfilth – ‘Summon the Beast of Damnation’

Philippines-based black metallers Omenfilth released their second album, Hymns of Diabolical Treachery, last year but they’re already prepared to drop its follow-up, Devourer of the Seven Moons. New offering “Summon the Beast of Damnation” continues down the traditional-sounding path previously laid out, with added ferocity.

“This track is one of most aggressive and musically adventurous songs we’ve ever written,” Omenfilth write to Decibel. “It’s fast, ravaging, dark, angry, moody and slapped with a very impious lyrical bent that we’ll leave to the listener to come up with their own conclusions. And yet it’s got two different dissonant riffs that strangely harmonizes on the verses and a melodic midsection. It’s got everything from bestial rhythms to the melodic midsection and the thrashy guitar solo part spanning a wide array of extreme metal sub-genres into a single song and blending them together flawlessly and still sounds identifiably Omenfilth without losing any character.”

Devourer of the Seven Moons is out April 12 via Eternal Death; pre-order via Bandcamp.
