Pairing & Killing: Deceased and Atlas Brew Works

In our new series Pairing & Killing, we’re bringing you our favorite picks for combinations of beers and bands based on the Decibel Magazine Metal & Beer Fest: Philly 2019 lineup. “Metal & Beer” tickets for the event, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday April 13 & 14 at the Fillmore Philadelphia, are almost sold out.

Decibel is stoked to welcome Atlas Brew Works back to Decibel Magazine Metal & Beer Fest: Philly. The D.C.-based brewery, which poured at the inaugural festival in 2017, is a perfect match with death-thrash legends Deceased, who released one of the best albums of their career late last year with Ghostly White and originally hailed from the D.C. suburb of Arlington, VA.

If pouring at Metal & Beer Fest doesn’t give them enough metal cred, the crew at Atlas is involved with The Metalheads Podcast, one of the only heavy metal podcasts you need. While you’re headbanging hard to new Deceased rippers like “Germ of Distorted Lore” and Decibel Hall of Fame-certified classics like “Fearless Undead Machines,” you can sample Night Vision, a 5.5% ABV Euro dark lager and Ponzi, a west coast IPA that comes in at a higher ABV of 7.3%.
