Through Wilderness, the new album from California’s Mortuous, is filthy death metal of the highest order. Eight tracks of disgusting death metal, the quartet have crafted an album that should appeal to anyone into the genre. Cavernous vocals, menacing riffs and a ripping guitar solo are the highlights of new song “The Dead Yet Dream,” which you can stream below. Add to that guest appearances from Chris Reifert and Danny Coralles (Autopsy) and lyrical contributions from Matt Harvey, and you’ve got the best death metal song you’ll hear all day.
“‘The Dead Yet Dream’ is one of our favorite tracks from our album “Through Wilderness”, because we got to work with three very influential people to make this song come to fruition. Chris Reifert and Danny Coralles from Autopsy and Matt Harvey of Exhumed. Each one of them brought their own personality onto the track which lead to extremely killer results. Between Matt’s lyrical imagery, Danny’s haunting solo, and Chris’ iconic screams, we feel like this song has a bit of everything to offer any true fan of Death Metal.
Through Wilderness is out on June 22 via Carbonized Records and Tankcrimes.
