You Should be Listening to Haunt

The majority of posts here generally fall into three categories: 1) track premieres or album streams from bands you’ve never heard of, 2) news items on bands you’ve definitely heard of, 3) and things that stick in Neill Jameson’s craw. But today we’re here to deliver public service announcement: If you’re a fan of classic, old-school New Wave of British Heavy Metal sounds, it’s probably time you check out Fresno’s Haunt. The band, lead by Beastmaker vocalist/guitarist Trevor William Church, self-released a fantastic four-track EP, Luminous Eyes, last summer, which was released on all major physical formats by Shadow Kingdom earlier this year. Now Haunt are readying their debut LP, Burst into Flame, for Shadow Kingdom on August 10.

The band recently unveiled the album’s title track and it’s bathed in classic 1980s NWOBHM-isms: Iron Maiden-esque gallops, swirling Angel Witch melodic guitar lines and Judas Priest’s melodic songwriting sensibility. Check it out below and raise your fists high.
