Track Premiere: INTRCPTR – ‘Dusted’

December 18, 2018 Emily Bellino
www.chadkelco.com
Streaming, Track Premiere 5ive, Instrumental, INTRCPTR, Pelican, Post Metal, premiere.

Post-metal instrumentalists INTRCPTR have plenty of experience playing this genre; before they released I in 2017, guitarist Ben Carr was best known for his work in 5ive and drummer Larry Herweg as a founding member of Pelican. To follow up I, INTRCPTR are slated to drop II at the end of this month. Featuring two tracks, Decibel is pleased to debut the first, “Dusted,” today.

Led by fuzzy, foot-stomping riffs, “Dusted” morphs into a groovy, excited, surprisingly heavy track by its end, where it fades into quiet feedback and noise.

“Intrcptr II is a tighter, more confident, more refined version of what we were doing on our debut, I,” Herweg tells Decibel. “On I we were still figuring out what kind of band we wanted to be and getting used to playing with each other. We spent a lot more time focusing on the songs for II. These tracks are more dialed and locked in. Tracked live as full takes with just one additional guitar track layer, gives the listener the same experience as hearing us play live.”

II is out this Thursday, December 20. Find it on Bandcamp.
