Ease into your Wednesday with some Midwestern post-black metal from Chrome Waves by way of their new video, “The Nail.”

M-Theory Audio will release the fifth full-length album from Chrome Waves, Earth Will Shed Its Skin, on April 28. Featuring current and ex-members of Abigail Williams, Novembers Doom, Nachtmystium and Wolvhammer, Chrome Waves pick up where those bands leave off and carry their tropes forward to create something unique and a sign of modern, post-everything times.

“I feel like every one of our albums ends up having an oddball track,” says guitarist Jeff Wilson. “Not that the song is out of place from the others, but it tends to push the boundaries of what we were totally comfortable with at the time of recording. That track this time around was ‘The Nail.’ We wanted to try some new instrumentation for this record, but this almost has an Alice in Chains-goes-country vibe in the first half, before retreating into utter chaos when Mac Gollehon shows up with a trumpet solo… some definite firsts for the band.”

Check out “The Nail” below and preorder the album here.
