Norwegian black metal outfit Djevelkult return with their new album, Drep alle guder, next month, but Decibel has a new track on deck right now. “The Life Destroyer” is the fifth track of eight on the Norsemen’s new album and it shows the band’s dark side. Running four-and-a-half minutes, the song maintains speed and intensity throughout its runtime.
The song’s grim and frostbitten core is given a jolt of energy by melodic leads interspersed throughout the song. Aided by strong production that makes the track clear without sterilizing it, “The Life Destroyer” is a slice of pure black metal.
Djevelkult tell Decibel, “‘The Life Destroyer’ is the behemoth psalm of our upcoming album and we dare say one of our proudest compositions of all our works so far.” Pre-orders are available now via Soulseller.
