LUNA 13 have found a unique sound, drawing from black metal, industrial and electronica for a sound that is uniquely theirs. The Los Angeles-based duo do what they want, making choices that might cause others to scratch their heads—such as this cover of Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse”—but it works and it stands out.
God.Dis, the duo’s latest album, was released last year but the hype train keeps rolling with another visual, this time for the track “Sacrificial Lamb.” Driven by bright synths, heavy bass and a drum machine beat and rounded out by growled vocals, LUNA 13 create a soundtrack for their own personal horror film—which is exactly what they do with the visual accompaniment.
“This video represents the horrors of 2020, from a failed response to a pandemic (i.e. the ‘Sacrificial Lamb’) to the crazy conspiracies that ravaged the United States,” explains frontwoman Dr. Luna. “This song is also Lilith Bathory’s favorite song on the God.Dis release. We had sinister fun turning 2020 into a horror video.”
God.Dis is out now.
