Track Premiere: Swampbeast – ‘The Blind God’

Lots of good death metal hails from slime and swamps, so it should come as no surprise that Swampbeast know how to play ripping death metal. Born in Los Angeles, California at the end of 2017, the West Coast death dealers honed their sound on a demo and split with Void Ceremony before recording their debut album, Seven Evils Spawned of Seven Heads.

As heard on the song “The Blind God,” Swampbeast play sturdy, churning death metal with blackened touches, bursting out of their slow, primitive grooves for occasional bursts of speed. “The Blind God” sees the band do a little of both, priming the listener for what is to come on Seven Evils Spawned of Seven Heads.

“A fast paced track that pummels you into submission with grooves and tempo changes, ‘The Blind God’ takes upon many forms,” says drummer/vocalist Marecov Mena. “A chaotic but honed sound that reflects the idiocracy mankind has created and how their god has turned his back on them indefinitely.”

Translation Loss is set to release Seven Evils on February 21, 2021. Listen to “The Blind God” below.
