Track Premiere: Come Back From the Dead – ‘Jugular II – The Altar of Your Neck’

Spanish death metal troupe Come Back From the Dead formed in 2008, but their sound is rooted in a much older tradition. The Spaniards’ music is rooted in the sounds of the early-’90s Swedish death metal scene, following in the path of Dismember, Entombed and Grave.

On “Jugular II – The Altar of Your Neck,” Come Back From the Dead lead with crunchy guitars and lively drumming that are soon joined by hoarse roars. Come Back from the Dead keep things short on “Jugular II” but there’s no denying that it’s effective—over a brief minute and thirty-two seconds, Come Back from the Dead fleshes out the song, including brief drum and guitar solos.

“Jugular II” is death metal in its purest form: short, HM2-powered and nasty. Come Back From the Dead are set to release their second album, The Rise of the Blind Ones, this weekend on Transcending Obscurity. Pre-order it via the label here.
