New York death metal group Hypoxia (featuring Monstrosity vocalist Mike Hrubovcak) are launching a monster of an album with Abhorrent Disease, their second full-length. Hypoxia deftly string together riffs, blasts, hammering grooves and guitar solos into an album that is equal parts attention-grabbing and brutal. Recorded at Full Force Studio (Suffocation, Internal Bleeding, Dehumanized), Abhorrent Disease matches in quality the many NYDM recorded there in its intensity and execution.
“This new album is actually dedicated to all our fallen metal brothers and sisters who have died of cancer or some other Abhorrent Disease,” Hrubovcak tells Decibel. “Far too many to name—gone but never forgotten. Blast this album till your speakers burst and come purge your rage with us in the pit.”
