Decibel readers who enjoy football may remember Eddie Gobbo’s Encrotchment column, where he shared what I can only assume were his educated thoughts and opinions on the sport. He also may have been lying to you, but I wouldn’t know. Gobbo—formerly the frontman of the now-defunct group Jar’d Loose—also moonlights as the frontman for sleazy noise rockers Something is Waiting, who are due to release their second LP Songs for the Sally Beauty Pavilion on March 29 and Decibel has an exclusive premiere of new song “Lost in Space.”
The gritty guitar riff and foot-stomping rhythm drive the track, with Gobbo’s snarled vocals needling the target of his ire, in this case a space cadet, with sarcastic-but-direct lyrics. It’s loud, in-your-face, mean rock ‘n’ roll, and it rules. Check out “Lost in Space” below.
