Video Premiere: Cultura Tres – ‘La Cruz Del Seis’

June 8, 2018 Emily Bellino
Streaming, Videos Cultura Tres, Post Metal, premiere, Sludge Metal, Venezuela, video.

Cultura Tres are a post-metal band turning the sub-genre on its head. Originating in Venezuela and now residing in the Netherlands, the band’s layered, sludgy sound draws from groove and death metal, as well as tribal music influences. Mixed together, it’s a sinister-sounding concoction that sets the band apart. A great example is the song “La Cruz Del Seis,” which comes from their recent album, La Secta.

To add to the sinister, Cultura Tres have unveiled a music video for “La Cruz Del Seis,” amplifying the unsettling tone of the song with evil rituals and faceless horrors. The band say the song and video “explores how it rules the lives of so many who can’t look further than religion (including South American beliefs such as Brujeria). The song lures the listener in to gradually confront the big questions in life. It calls out the illusive relief given by spiritual practices which try to block the acceptance of death as a clear end. ‘La Voz Del Tiempo’ which roughly translates as ‘The Voice of Time’ refers to the only voice that actually has a a real saying in our lives: The inevitable passing of time…”

La Secta is available now.

The heavier we became, the more people around us denied us any support. There wasn't an extreme metal scene.
