Those of you intimately familiar with Monster Magnet’s criminally underrated 2004 album Monolithic Baby! may recall the garage-rockin’ mid-LP number “The Right Stuff.” If you were paying close attention, you likely noticed the track was, in fact, a cover of a song from former Hawkwind vocalist/lyricist Robert Calvert. Fourteen years later, Dave Wyndorf takes another shot at a track from Calvert’s 1974 solo record, Captain Lockheed and the Starfighters, in the form of the equally awesome “Ejection.” Fun fact: A certain Ian Fraser Kilmister played bass on the original, and Arthur Brown and Brian Eno guested elsewhere on the record. Maybe check it out instead of whatever shitty Incantation knockoff band we’ll probably premiere in the next 10 minutes.
Anyway, “Ejection” fits in perfectly on Monster Magnet’s new LP Mindfucker, which is out on March 23 via Napalm Records. Don’t forget, Monster Magnet will also appear at Decibel Metal & Beer Fest on March 31. Some tickets are still available but moving quickly – get them here and below.

Metal & Beer Fest FAQs
What are my ticket options?
You can purchase a one- or two-day “Metal & Beer Ticket,” which allows you to watch all bands performing. It also gives you access to samples from all 20 breweries who will be at Decibel Metal and Beer Fest, as well as access to all breweries and bars plus a Decibel Metal and Beer Fest tasting cup.
You may also purchase a one- or two- day “Just Metal” ticket (limited to 500 each day) that grants you access to all four bars on the first floor, as well as the ability to see each band playing. You will also have the opportunity to purchase samples of featured breweries from the bar.
How much does it cost?
“Metal & Beer” tickets are $80 for one day and $150 for both.
“Just Metal” tickets are $42 for one day and $82 for both.
If you bought four craft beers at the fest, you would be spending more than $40. The “Metal and Beer Ticket” pays for itself and then some!
Are the breweries in an area separate from the bands?
No, Decibel Metal & Beer Fest is a fully integrated fan experience. You can walk over to the 3 Floyds table, sample a “Blood of the Sunsets” beer, co-brewed by At the Gates, WHILE you watch At the Gates!
