As far as extreme metal supergroups go, they don’t get much bigger than Scour. Counting among their ranks the infamous Phil Anselmo (ex-Pantera, Down, Superjoint), John Jarvis (Pig Destroyer, Agoraphobic Nosebleed), Derek Engemann (Cattle Decapitation), Chase Fraser (Animosity, Decrepit Birth), and Adam Jarvis (Pig Destroyer, Misery Index), the black metal powerhouse is loaded with talented and recognizable names. After their self-titled EP, Scour have returned for another beating with Red EP.
The title track—streaming exclusively through Decibel—is blistering fusion of black metal and grindcore, with a throat-shredding vocal performance by Anselmo.
“Scour returns with a vengeance with the title track, ‘Red,” Engemann says. “Blasting right out the gate, ‘Red’ steps up the intensity, while retaining that relentlessly haunting Scour sound.”
“I think the track shows Phil’s versatility, and perhaps some of his best screams in years, a total rip fest,” John Jarvis adds.
Stream “Red” below and pre-order it for a November 3 release on Housecore.
