Track Premiere: In Twilight’s Embrace Transcend ‘The Hell of Mediocrity’

Poland’s blackened death outfit In Twilight’s Embrace have hardly been prolific in their decade-plus history, though they seem to have picked up the pace recently.  Their third album, The Grim Muse, slithered forth in 2015, then last year they dropped a short EP called Trembling, and next month their label Arachnophobia will release fourth full-length Vanitas.  For fans, this is cause for excitement; for the uninitiated, it’s certainly as good a place as any to fall into Embrace’s arms.  What should you expect?  Glad you asked.

Today we premiere the new album’s opening track, “The Hell of Mediocrity.”  Vocalist Cyprian Łakomy had the following to say about the album:  “Having confronted several deaths of family members and friends made me realise the true weight of mortality.  The realisation paved the way for reflections which would later become the backbone of the lyrics and atmosphere on Vanitas.  Death is an opportunity to ask questions about the here and now, and what kind of legacy – if any at all – we are possibly leaving.”

Vanitas will be released on September 22nd.  Check out more by In Twilight’s Embrace here, and find out what else Arachnophobia is up to here.
