Philly’s singular reality-obliterating, perception-expanding transcendental metal duo Sadgiqacea ended a two year hiatus via a glorious return to the stage at Shadow Woods Metal Fest and the great music photog/Decibel contributor Gene Smirnov was on hand to capture the beautifully reworked version of “The Spoils of Harvest” below.
“It’s always so special and unique to be able to play music outdoors and this set at Shadow Woods Metal Fest 2016 was no exception,” Sadgiqacea guitarist Evan Void — also known for his work in Decibel favs Hivelords and Tombs — says. “Sadgiqacea has always been a somewhat mystical and cosmic entity, and the atmosphere of playing in the woods was so fitting that it surely enhanced our experience as a band, and hopefully it had the same effect on the audience. We wouldn’t have been able to do it without the help of our sound engineer Kevin Millen, who flew back east from New Orleans to mix us.”
