The exuberantly chipper adage of “misery loves company” seems especially relevant to the world of extreme music. With this in mind, Baltimore’s Musket Hawk make for the ideal friend on a slow, hazy, miserable afternoon. The bludgeoning stomp of the sludge/grind trio seems the perfect soundtrack for a concrete wasteland littered with broken bottles, presumably frequented by would-be assailants who would go as far as to steal your organs to sell (just to make sure they didn’t miss anything.)
Bask in the bluesy “Candidate for the Knife” below. Musket Hawk’s sophmore full-length Desolate will be released May 6th on Unholy Anarachy Records. You can keep up with the band via Facebook, and catch them live with Disparo! on the Desolate Road Spring 2016 Tour:
