Play Magic: the Gathering Against FROZEN SOUL This Monday in Philly!

The Texas masters of all things cold-school Frozen Soul have made giant strides in a relatively short amount of time. After signing with metal pillar Century Media Records, not only did their sophomore release Glacial Domination land a respectable No. 8 on your favorite bathroom reader’s Top 40 Albums of 2023 list, they’ve rightfully earned a spot opening for legends Amon Amarth, Cannibal Corpse and Obituary for Metal Crushes All Tour 2024, which is currently steamrolling across North America as you read this.

Despite such gains, the band remains true to their identity—being both an incredibly positive force in death metal as well as huge Magic: The Gathering nerds. Whether it’s cracking packs between stops, getting in rounds amongst themselves back stage or whipping up circle pits while some brave souls play a quick round during of their set, their devotion to the massively popular TCG is undeniable. If you’ve ever wanted to get in on the action without the threat of a size 12 boot catching you in the face while counting mana, now is your chance!

This Monday, May 13, Frozen Soul will be making at stop at Redcap’s Corner (3850 Lancaster Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19104) from 1pm to 3pm to chill, talk luxury cardboard or even play a game or two of commander with fans before returning to the stage later that night at the Fillmore Philadelphia. The event is free (though that foil Cyclonic Rift sure as hell isn’t), so the only thing you have to lose is your pride. Do you have what it takes to take a game off of the winter wizards? Find out or be left in the cold forever! And if you’re too far away to join in on the fun, be sure to catch the Metal Crushes All Tour when it comes to a town near you—just make sure to leave the good cards at home.
