Stereogum is Also Agalloch’s Girlfriend…

One of our favorite music sites (and not just because they point us straight to naked people music videos) is Stereogum and our most favorite nook is Brandon Stosuy’s column Haunting The Chapel. And now Mr. Stosuy has unveiled his top 50 records of 2010, crowning the best album as, drum ro… Oh, he picked Agalloch, too? Well, that was kind of anticlimactic. But still, there are 49 other albums he has deemed essential metal journeys, some that slipped through our razor sharp talons. Here are his top 20:

20 Unearthly Trance – V (Relapse)
19 The Body – All The Waters Of The Earth Turn To Blood (At A Loss)
18 Locrian – The Crystal World (Utech)
17 Castevet – Mounds Of Ash (Profound Lore)
16 Ghost – Opus Eponymous (Rise Above)
15 Darkthrone – Circle The Wagons (Peaceville)

But there is so much more on the official list with 30 more metal albums, six EPS, a bunch of honorable mentions, links to his past lists and even Brandon’s top non-metal records for the year. If you have to work the rest of the week, you can spend most of your day on here either checking out the bands you don’t know or screaming at your monitor, showering it in spittle and outrage, while your cubicle mate hides under his desk. It will be a Christmas miracle. Go do it now.
