Vomito Mortuorio (English: “Mortuary Vomit”) are a new old-school death metal band hailing from El Salvador, led by prolific multi-instrumentalist Céfiro de Muerte, who plays and has played in numerous Salvadoran bands. Their debut album, Dentro del Sarcófago (“Inside the Sarcophagus), is primitive and raw, sonically reeking of death like a corpse inside a coffin.
Dentro del Sarcófago is produced in a way that allows the low end to churn the listener’s guts but the production feels distinctly like something from 35 years ago. Though the lyrics are written entirely in Spanish, Decibel is assured that they are “totally dedicated to cemeteries, rusted mausoleums and old human bones.”
The release of Dentro del Sarcófago is a joint effort by five different labels: Total Därkness Propaganda (Hungary), Morbid Skull Records (El Salvador), Remorseless Records (US), Necroscope Blasphemia (Poland) and Rawblackult Productions (Bolivia), but you can get an early listen via the stream below.
