Great Falls, a band that merges Kafkaesque introspection with unhealthy amounts of noise, is heading to Europe in a little more than a week. Those countries aren’t going to know what to do when they are hit with a gut punch of their unmistakably American porridge of rage, hopelessness, and volume. And they are just the prelude to the mighty Botch!
While Great Falls can be harsh on first listen they unquestionably mine some of the difficulties of being human in our strange digital, pre-apocalyptic landscape. My first listen of Objects Without Pain (released on Neurot) felt like being a newborn doused with cold holy water; the landscape became clearer but no less discomforting with several listens.
To celebrate the tour Decibel is premiering the video for the track “Trap Feeding” below. Great Falls will take 50 cassette copies of their last album on the road. Fifty more will be available through Total Dissonance Worship. Get one while they last.
Please support Great Falls on their several-week trek through Europe and at their shows in late March with Wake. Tour dates follow. If you catch Mehling after a gig, make sure to tell him the font is off in the press release. Only Calibri 11-point font is real, posers.
