Melodic death metal is alive and well in Italy! Merano-based quartet Ontborg offer up a tasty slice of melodic mayhem in their latest video for the single, “Steps of Damnation.” While the video is pretty simple in concept—four dudes raging in a gloomy grotto, with obligatory fog/mist enshrouding the band—the song offers a solid example of the band’s black metal-tainted melodicism, a mid-tempo rager with plenty of fury and emotion.
The video for “Steps of Damnation” was created by helmut.gross.photography and offers a preview of Ontborg’s—Christopher Flarer (drums), Lukas Flarer, (guitar/vocals), Florian Reiner (guitar), Christoph Gufler (bass)—second full-length, Following The Steps Of Damnation, which was recorded at Sound Control Studio by Lukas Flarer. The new album is set for release on February 24 on CD digipak and digitally on Black Lion Records. Preorder and stream it here.
