This year gets off to an experimental start with Brazil’s premiere grindcore unit Test unleashing one hell of an audio/visual project onto the unsuspecting public. Filmed in one of Sao Paulo’s most iconic theaters during the band’s Especies tour last year, the Test Big Band is one-time collaboration between the band’s core members and a rotating cast of eleven other musicians creating an audio/video offering that incorporates the band’s original material as well as healthy amounts of improvised experimentation, all in front of a live studio audience. If you’ve ever wondered what a grindcore band would sound like with three vocalists and a piano player, well then, look no further than this full live performance of both songs from the project’s A Beautiful Day EP.
The band is currently putting the finishing touches on a new full length, Disco Normal, which will come out later this year and plan on touring the U.S. sometime over the Summer. Until then, let the test Big Band expand your mind.
