And, lord, does Agnes Vein seem determined to validate this sentiment on Deathcall, a beguiling and epic new album that deftly fuses transcendent, reality reconfiguring black metal with heart-of-the-ancients doom.
It is, in short, a darkly exhilarating collection of songs that feel like a reverberation of those gods.
