Track Premiere: Norse — “Zero Insight”

Often black metal is treated as much as an orientation to society and existence as it is a form of music. And yet so much of the subgenre is not all that concerned with obscuring or divorcing itself from its easily discerned antecedents.

So the way in which Australia’s Norse subverts paradigms with old rhythms, dissonant chords, and weirdness — not unlike what latter day Gorguts does within death metal, really — on Acestic is a welcome shake up.

You can pick up the record in a variety of formats and packagings via Transcending Obscurity — including a mini-wooden coffin edition (!) — but we’ve got an exclusive stream of the track “Zero Insight” below.

Turn off the lights and ready your brain for scrambling.
