For a decade now the Querétaro-based five-piece Question have carried on the tradition of bringing to the world atmospheric Mexican death metal par excellence. With the release of their debut album, Doomed Passages in 2014, Question’s presence in the underground became not only known, but deeply felt the world over. The Mexican skull-fragmenters went on to release a strong follow-up EP on their homelabel Chaos Records, before letting Caligari Records handle their mighty self-titled EP from 2018. Now the band returns to Chaos to unleash their sophomore crusher, Reflections of the Void.
“Reflections of the Void is a continuation of what we were doing [on] previous releases, trying to express certain aspects of life and death that interest us, through lyrics but also through music itself,” says the band. “In this release I think the songs matured in terms of structure, each song is unique in the sense that each one tells a particular story. Fans of melodic death metal but also dissonant death metal will find something interesting here. As we have stated in some interviews, we have never tried to imitate any style or any band in particular.”
We’re pleased to bring our readers this exclusive premiere of “First Fragmentations” from Question’s sophomore album, Reflections of the Void.
