Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine Confirms Throat Cancer Diagnosis

Dave Mustaine—guitarist and vocalist for thrash metal icons Megadeth—confirmed today in a Facebook post that he has been diagnosed with throat cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. Mustaine wrote in a Facebook post that he is facing the disease head on and that there is a 90% success rate for treatment.

Megadeth have cancelled the majority of their shows this year (updated information on their website) but Mustaine also wrote that he is in the studio with bandmates David Ellefson, guitarist Kiko Loureiro and drummer Dirk Verbeuren working on the follow up to 2016’s Dystopia.
