Gore metal legends Exhumed announced today that Noisem guitarist Sebastian Philips has officially replaced Bud Burke as a full-time member of Exhumed. Philips played with Exhumed as a live member on a number of tours since the release of Death Revenge (2017), meaning fans who have seen the band since then are already familiar.

“We’re super psyched to bring Baz into the fold,” bandleader Matt Harvey said in a Facebook post. “Anyone that’s seen us since Death Revenge came out can attest that he’s killed it on the last few tours, and we couldn’t ask for a better fit.”

“It’s been blast so far and since the first tour I did with Exhumed, it just felt comfortable,” adds Philips. “I’d been a fan for a long time and getting to know them, I found out that we all come from the same hard rock and nasty, fast extreme metal backgrounds, so it just made sense.”

Harvey clarified that the split with Burke was an amicable one that was necessary simply because Burke wasn’t able to tour as much as necessary. According to the post, Exhumed will enter the studio next year to work on new material.
