Watch: Smashing Pumpkins Cover ‘Landslide’ with Myrkur

This is the second time I’m posting about Smashing Pumpkins covering a song live with a special guest, but unlike the time that Billy Corgan brought out the guy from Sugar Ray to murder a beloved heavy metal anthem, this one is pretty cool. Post-black metal siren Myrkur opened up for Smashing Pumpkins at Wembley Arena in London and at Unipol Arena in Italy; both nights, the Pumpkins brought out Myrkur to perform their cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide,” at this point a Pumpkins staple. Fortunately for those of us who weren’t in attendance, a video of their performance in Italy has surfaced.

Myrkur, real name Amalie Bruun, handles all of the vocals and, unsurprisingly, nails it. Billy Corgan continues to impress in the wardrobe department, sporting what we can only assume is half of his Halloween costume.

Mareridt, Mykur’s latest album, is out now on Relapse. You can also read Decibel‘s October 2017 cover story on Myrkur, available here.
