US death metal quartet Solium Fatalis have honed their style of vicious melodic death metal to its finest point yet on their fourth album, Genetically Engineered to Enslave. Much like American melodic death metal titans The Black Dahlia Murder, the production on Genetically Engineered is smooth and clear, highlighting the exceptional musicianship of each person in the band; guitarists Jim Gregory and Ryan Beevers are one hell of a tag team. Factor in the airtight rhythm section of bassist/vocalist Jeff DeMarco and drummer Jeff Saltzman and you have a very talented team.
With guest appearances from Phil Tougas (First Fragment, Chthe’ilist) on guitar and Matt McGachy (Cryptopsy) on bass, Solium Fatalis are able to deliver a clean, sharp album that should appeal to any fan of modern melodic death metal. The band will self-release Genetically Engineered to Enslave on October 13, but you can stream it below now.
