Florida sludge metal crew Yashira dropped their debut LP Shrine in April, but that hasn’t stopped the band from pushing straight ahead. They’ll be releasing a split 7-inch with metalcore legends Zao, and Decibel has a stream of that song, “Led to Ache.” Yashira’s thick sludge metal is infused with quite a bit of dissonance, with hints of grind, hardcore and even post-metal in the mix. The Florida quartet change styles on a dime, reeling the noisy chaos into pit-inducing fight riffs and jumping from grooves to blast beats without interrupting the song’s flow.
