In September, I wrote that Portland punks WORWS were “reacting to the environment around them: drug abuse, gentrification in the city they call home and general social wrongs. The end result is their new album, Truth to Power, a blistering social commentary that will have you taking up arms (or musical instruments) against authority in no time flat.” It’s been almost a year since Decibel premiered Truth to Power, but the album is still as potent as when it was released.
The visuals for “Sheltering Hand,” the sixth track on Truth to Power, follow the same theme as the lyrics on the album. Various American-themed images and video clips make their way into the video, underscoring WORWS’ call to organize as the music reaches a fever pitch.
