San Diego craft beer stalwarts Societe will make an East Coast appearance at Decibel Metal & Beer Fest, bringing with them two diverse beers that will appeal to attendees of all craft beer preferences.
“I cannot wait for the Decibel Metal & Beer Fest,” Societe’s Doug Constantiner excitedly tells Decibel. “It combines my two greatest passions into one epic weekend. I am looking forward to connecting with other metal people and getting to pour them some Societe beer!”
Societe also gave us a preview of what they’ll be bringing to the fest.
The Butcher (Imperial Stout, 9.666% ABV)
The Butcher is a rich yet impressively drinkable imperial stout with Golding hops, roasted malts, oats, (and Orc’s Blood). Its profound roasted malt character and velvety smooth body conceals its alcoholic fortitude. A dense, cocoa-colored head delivers chocolaty aromas that segue beautifully to bittersweet, roasty flavors evocative of French Roast coffee. When we drink The Butcher, we indulge our inner-beasts by cranking up the death-metal.
The Heiress (Czech Pilsner, 5.3% ABV)
The Heiress is our take on a classic Bohemian pilsner containing Saaz and varying hops, pilsner malts. Refreshing and effervescent with a snow-white head, it’s earthy and floral with a clean, bitter finish. It’s the perfect beer for fans of traditional pilsners…and for converting people whose only reference-point for pilsners are the adjunct versions sold 24 to a box.

You may also purchase a one- or two- day “Just Metal” ticket (limited to 500 each day) that grants you access to all four bars on the first floor, as well as the ability to see each band playing. You will also have the opportunity to purchase samples of featured breweries from the bar.
How much does it cost?
“Metal & Beer” tickets are $80 for one day and $150 for both.
