Translation Loss will release Misery Rites, the third album from Canadian grinders WAKE, on February 23. To whet your appetite, Decibel has acquired an exclusive stream of the title track, which overflows with breakneck grindcore and crust sensibilities.
The intensity behind “Misery Rites” is matched by its heavy, honest subject matter.
“Misery Rites is a concept that is made up of my personal battles with depression, addiction, isolation and their perpetual cycles that I’ve found myself caught in, time and time again,” vocalist Kyle Ball explains. “Some songs stray from this concept and focus on different avenues of human arrogance. The song ‘Misery Rites’ is the first song in the overall narrative found throughout the album. It’s about the beginning of these cycles and how easily I keep falling back into them.”
Listen to “Misery Rites” now and head to the Translation Loss store to grab a copy of Misery Rites before its release.
