It may have taken a grand total of five demos and two splits to get there, but the debut album from Spectral Voice is finally upon us and there is no doubt it was worth the wait. Eroded Corridors of Unbeing is dark and claustrophobic, bearing down upon the listener with a crushing urgency.
“Thresholds Beyond” sets the tone for Eroded Corridors, leading with reverberating, dissonant guitars that double down into meaty death/doom riffs and cavernous vocals. Other standouts include “Visions of Psychic Dismemberment,” a raging fourteen-minute opus and album closer “Dissolution,” which serves as a neat summary of Eroded Corridors‘ finest moments, from slow, eerie passages to blast beaten-driven stretches.
