Track Premiere: YLVA – ‘Metadata’

September 13, 2017 Emily Bellino
Streaming, Track Premiere Australia, pelagic, Post Metal, premiere, Sludge, Translation Loss, YLVA.

YLVA are a band that sound absolutely huge. Combining earth-shaking riffs and percussion with reverberating, emotive vocals and soaring melodies, the Australian sludge/post-metal outfit deliver something equal parts heavy and melodic on their forthcoming META.

New song “Metadata” takes all of those elements, leading with flattening guitars and screamed vocals before eventually fading out with a guitar solo.

“META is a first hand reflection on the dwellings and consequences of modern city living and the urban sprawl,” guitarist/vocalist Mike Deslandes says. “As a band, we spent a long time focused on how this reflection translated to us through physical expression and, of course, volume. We were fortunate enough to continue this process into making of the record as a closed group of four.”

Listen to “Metadata” now and pre-order the record, out November 17 through Translation Loss and Pelagic Records.
