West Virginia bruisers Left Behind made a splash with their debut record, Seeing Hell, combining hardcore with sludge and thrash influences. Now they’ve announced a second record, Blessed by the Burn, and Left Behind are swinging even harder on first single “Tough Love.”
“Tough Love” addresses themes of physical and emotional abuse, and is arguably Left Behind’s heaviest song yet. Read the band’s commentary on the new song and video before watching “Tough Love” below.
“The video is abstract and disorderly, reflecting (vocalist) Zach’s mental state after his girlfriend’s death and the anger he had towards her father, who had physically and emotionally abused her throughout her life and up until the night before her death,” Left Behind tell Decibel.
Blessed by the Burn is out October 27 on Unbeaten Records.
