Track Premiere: B R I Q U E V I L L E – ‘Akte V’

August 29, 2017 Emily Bellino
Streaming, Track Premiere B R I Q U E V I L L E, Doom, drone, Pelagic Records, Post Metal, premiere.

There’s nothing very straightforward about B R I Q U E V I L L E. The mysterious, almost cult-like group performs in masks and robes, but this isn’t Slipknot or Mushroomhead. Using layers of heavy guitars, field recordings and more, B R I Q U E V I L L E play a form of post-metal that moves at a languid pace that will appeal as much to fans of Sunn O))) as it will to fans of more traditional post-metal.

Stream B R I Q U E V I L L E’s latest offering, the winding “Akte V,” exclusively through Decibel below.

“Like all of our music, ‘Akte V’ was made out of numerous jam sessions,” the anonymous members of B R I Q U E V I L L E explain. “Most of these start off with one repetitive note or tone. All these sessions are then put together, shaping one coherent piece. Once that’s finished, it’s time to start removing the excessive.”

Pelagic Records will release II on September 29. U.S. listeners can pre-order here and European listeners can pre-order here.

The heavier we became, the more people around us denied us any support. There wasn't an extreme metal scene.
