Two of New Jersey’s up-and-coming extreme bands—Dutchguts and Chained to the Dead—joined forces to record a raging split album on Horror Pain Gore Death Productions. Dutchguts is up first, with three sludgy punk songs that find them combining influences from bands like Black Flag, Sleep and Discharge for a noisy stoner-punk sound.
Chained to the Dead serve up the more extreme half of the split, playing speedy death metal with filthy vocals, blast beats, fast riffs and well-placed samples interlaced throughout.
