After an auspicious run as a solo project, Stockholm’s Putrified return with their first release in three years, complete with a full line-up. If you’re already a fan of previous works executed by “A. Death” under the Putrified banner then The Flesh. The Scythe. The Tomb. will come as a welcome surprise to you. Take the rotten, rollicking death metal you’ve come to know and love from this Swedish outfit, but throw in some more decaying bodies, crank up the full moonlit solos, and set the fog to creep. The Flesh. The Scythe. The Tomb. is exemplary Swedeath played by real, authentic Swedes, and an unforgettable introduction to Putrified’s latest cohorts: bassist P. Apocalypse, drummer Crypt, and guitarist Grave—likely not their real names.
The Flesh. The Scythe. The Tomb. was recorded at Mind the Gap Studios. Side A of the EP was mixed by Dan Lowndes (of Cruciamentum) at Resonance Sound Studio, while side B (comprised of unreleased cover songs from Putrified’s past) was mixed by Oskar Solvik.
Here’s what the band has to say about their upcoming EP, and the premiere of “Sarcophagus (under the lid)”:
Get The Flesh. The Scythe. The Tomb. on December 19th from Unholy Prophecies.
