For those not born too late (couldn’t, just couldn’t resist) St. Vitus’ classic 1986 full-length of that same title stands out as bastion of the true doom among a sea of speed-obsessed thrash and thrash-influenced albums. For a point of comparison, consider the classic releases from the same year: Slayer, Metallica, Sodom, Megadeth, Sepultura, Kreator, Destruction, etc. etc. However, we know that you probably know all about this quintessential, anguish-ridden classic, (especially if you caught Born Too Late’s induction into the Hall of Fame back in the March 2010 issue) so we’ll get to the part that qualifies as news here.
