Look, if you’re trafficking in brutal death metal, such as the trio of Aussies in Slaughtercult, you’ll naturally find yourself writing about the less-fine things in life, like “Perverse Bestial Lactation,” “Menstrual Marinade” and “Soft Foetal Malformation” (all taken from their new full-length, Devoured by Perversion). And you’ll certainly engage in some shit-talking, as indicated in “Repulsed by Your Haggard Appearance” and the straight forward “Horrible Cunt.” There’s really no way to sugar-coat “brutal,” and these fine fellows—Jeremy McLoughlin (guitar/vocals), Sean Cartwright (bass/vocals), Matthew Newling (drums)—certainly deliver on what the whole package promises. We’re giving you a full blast of it—all 11 gloriously grotesque and hide-flaying tracks—so, by all means, strap in and get some abuse.
