So had everything worked out just right, we’d be giving you an exclusive premiere of this track from Split Cranium. However, considering the fact the album came out last week, some of you may have already “premiered” it on your home stereo. And, as such, the “exclusive” part of this is moot. For those of you who haven’t heard the noisy hardcore glory of Split Cranium, well, cozy up to this little nugget from the band’s self-titled debut on Hydra Head.
Speaking of Hydra Head, label, uh, head, Aaron Turner (ex-ISIS, currently appearing on a release near you), is the vocalist for this new quartet. The rest of the group is from Finland and features Jussi Lehtisalo (Circle, Pharaoh Overlord), Jukka Kröger and Samae Koskinen (both of Steel Mammoth). While much of the material mines Scando crusty d-beat territory, there are plenty of chaotic/anarchic free noise passages and just general hardcore mayhem, as well.
