Funeral doom purveyors Evoken have been added to select dates on the inaugural Decibel Magazine Tour. With Behemoth, Watain, The Devil’s Blood, and In Solitude capping the tour, Evoken’s rare appearances will certainly ramp up interest in the tour’s extreme yet diverse sound and vision.
Evoken will exclusively play the songs of death and despair at:

“Part of Decibel’s mission is to push the boundaries of what a metal publication is capable of doing,” says Decibel editor-in-chief Albert Mudrian, the tour’s principal curator. “By bringing bands like Watain, the Devil’s Blood and In Solitude to larger stages in the U.S, we create an additional vehicle to help raise their profiles. It’s another way to infect the mainstream with the power of the underground.”
Evoken is yet another boundary-pushing selection.
“On these select nights, you shall experience the effects of glacial flows through the hearts of these cities,” adds Evoken skinsman Vince Verkay.
For the uninitiated, Evoken has crafted a career of funereal death, drawing from the likes of Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, Portishead, Winter, Disembowelment, King Crimson, Swans, Lustmord, Black Sabbath, Thergothon, and Hawkwind. With four full-lengths in the proverbial mausoleum and the fifth on the way via the always-cool Profound Lore Records, it’s with great honor we’ve been able to coax the ever-reclusive New Jerseyans from the gravesite they call home.
