We’re not only premiering a new track here, “Cuckin’ ’Round,” we’re introducing a new band, Nashville noise mongers, Yammer Jaw. This raucous quartet—Chris Clark (guitar/vocals), Stephen Small (guitar/vocals), Richie Townsend (drums), Ian Sundstrum (bass/vocals)—features former and current members of Waxed, Sheep Shifter, and War Brides and are a couple months out from releasing their debut EP, Burth. This lead single offers a solid insight into Yammer Jaw’s M.O. It’s a herky-jerky, rhythm section-forward bruiser with riffs aplenty and manic, hardcore vocals. Pure noise rock heaven, if such a thing exists.
Burth was engineered and mixed by Shibby Poole and mastered and etched by Dan Emery at Black Matter. It’s set for release on vinyl, CD, cassette and digitally on September 18.
