Japanese multi-instrumentalist Kosuke Hashida works fast. His new album, Moment of Silence, is his third solo album where he plays every instrument in just three years. His combination of death, thrash and grind reflects the various years he’s spent in projects like World End Man, Nihilist Workshop and even as a temporary live member of Abysmal Dawn. Moment of Silence reflects those years of practice, recording and live performances. It’s a heavy, satisfying romp through fast extreme music, one that doesn’t feel shortchanged or rushed despite its quick creation cycle.
“Moment Of Silence is an extreme release born from pressure, isolation and the impossibility of true silence in modern life, expressed through grindcore and noise,” Hashida tells Decibel. “Working with Horror Pain Gore Death helped bring that intensity into a focused and uncompromising form without diluting its rawness.”
Fans of 2000s-and-beyond Napalm Death, Pig Destroyer, Brutal Truth and Nasum will find a lot to dig about the album, which you can stream below.
