Long-running black/death metal outfit Blood of the Wolf return after a three-year absence, equipped with new album V: Indomitable, their fourth full-length and fifth official release overall.
Indomitable sounds like its name suggests: a chugging, no-nonsense approach to the genre, building on a solid death metal foundation a la Morbid Angel or Vader and expanding it with blackened influences. At eight songs, it’s a breezy listen despite the album’s burly production and blast beat-laden drumming.
“V: Indomitable continues in the same vein as the previous four releases,” Blood of the Wolf tell Decibel. “Intense and aggressive blackened death metal for fans of Belphegor, Vader, Marduk and Hate. Working with HPGD has been great, Mike does exactly what he says he’s going to do and has been supportive of us the past 6 years.”
Though it’s not officially out until December 19, V: Indomitable is available to stream in full now via Decibel. Horror Pain Gore Death will officially release the record on Friday digitally and physically.
